Protecting access to reproductive health care

House Bill 570

Sponsored by Rep. Marilyn Marler (D - Missoula)

This bill was tabled in House Judiciary Committee on a unanimous vote.

Rep. Marler's House Bill 570 protects Montanans' access to reproductive health care services by creating a civil penalty for interference. For example, someone could be fined $500 for blocking the entrance to an abortion clinic, preventing a person from accessing prenatal care, or interfering with someone's access to contraceptives. HB 570 also creates a civil cause of action i.e. a patient could sue a perpetrator for damages.
