Frequently Asked Questions

How the Collective Works

What is the Montana Sexual & Reproductive Health Collective?

We are a statewide, people-powered alliance of clinicians, advocates, organizers, legal experts, and community leaders working together to protect bodily autonomy and advance sexual and reproductive health across Montana. We're rooted in the Reproductive Justice framework and driven by collaboration, not hierarchy.

What does it mean to be a "collective"?

A collective means we share power, not concentrate it. There’s no rigid hierarchy—our members lead the work, shape strategy, and move in solidarity. Decisions are made through shared values, trust, and coordination. Everyone brings something to the table, and we grow stronger together.

How are decisions made?

We use a collaborative and consensus-informed model. There’s no executive director or top-down board, just a growing group of people and organizations working together. We elevate the voices of those most impacted and let the work be shaped by real, on-the-ground needs.

How do members participate?

You participate as it fits your capacity, there’s no one way to be a member. Members take part in a variety of ways:

  • Join monthly strategy sessions to align on statewide priorities

  • Access and share public education toolkits and campaign materials

  • Use our shared tools—like messaging guides and organizing templates

  • Support urgent response efforts during legislative or legal threats

  • Stay connected through newsletters, calls, and real-time updates

Who can join?

Anyone committed to reproductive justice in Montana can join. You don’t have to do it all. You just have to show up in solidarity. We welcome both individuals and organizations.

  • Organizational members get access to collective tools, visibility, and strategy spaces

  • Individual members bring lived experience, creativity, and community knowledge

  • Youth and emerging leaders receive mentorship and organizing support

What do members get?

As a member, you’ll receive:

  • Toolkits & Resources – Early access to the Learn & Take Action series, plus policy explainers

  • Trainings & Strategy Calls – Live events, workshops, and guest speakers

  • Organizing Tools – Messaging guides, templates, and campaign packs

  • Connection & Collective Power – Join a statewide network of advocates, organizers, and care providers

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Membership in the Collective is free because access to community, information, and strategy shouldn’t come with a price tag. We believe in solidarity, not paywalls. If you're here to protect and expand reproductive justice in Montana, there's a place for you.
